Come to the Fayre - July 3rd in Kells Lane Park

On Saturday July 3rd 2010, the inaugural Low Fell Summer Fayre will be held in Kell's Lane Park between 12:00 and 4:00 p.m. The aim of the event is to bring together people of all ages from the Low Fell community, and it has been organised by your local ward councillors, led by Susan Craig, in conjunction with Gateshead Council.

Children from Oakfield Infants, Kells Lane and St Peters schools will be taking part and will be coming along to the Fayre to entertain everyone.

There has been a fantastic response from a host of community and voluntary groups and many local organisations will be represented on the day. There will also be craft stalls and other entertainment in what is expected to be an enjoyable afternoon out for the whole family.

Susan Craig said "Due to the fantastic response from local schools and organisations, the event will be very well attended. As there is very limited parking near the park, it may be a good idea for people to walk to the park on the day if at all possible."

'Get Carter' car park to go

Frank Hindle has welcomed the news that Gateshead Couincil and Tesco have finally come to an agreement over the redevelopment of Trinity Square in Gateshead Town Centre, and that demolition - including the multi-storey car park will resume in the next few weeks

Earlier this year Frank set up an on-line petition to help gather support for the scheme and to call on Tesco to make a decision. Frank said "I am delighted that the board of Tesco have finally signed up for this scheme and want to congratilate everyone who has worked for this outcome.

I understand that after all the delays people might still be sceptical and waiting to see if this just another announcement that promises much and delivers little, but so far the signs are good. I would urge Tesco to move ahead with the de,olition as fast as possible to show that they really do mean business."

You can still sign up for the petition and to be kept up to date on news
